My Thoughts on the Midterm Elections.
Twitter is full of celebrity activists making sure to remind us that if we don't vote for Democrats that we will get the ever-terrifying Republicans after tomorrow. Woah, hold up, you mean that one of the 2 houses of congress are going to be run by the same assholes that had it 4 years ago? Fuck! I hate those guys. They aren't going to raise the minimum wage. They aren't going to make things better for you at your job. They aren't going to give us universal healthcare. They aren't going to put restrictions on corporate power. They aren't going to have a serious debate on this country's drug policies. They aren't going to get us the fuck out of foriegn entanglements. They aren't going fix the financial system that lead to the economic meltdown of 2008, and they are absolutely terrible on civil liberties.
Just like the Democrats.
Don't vote for people who don't give a fuck about you. Don't vote at all. Make real change in your community and don't pay attention to those assholes. When this thing crumbles, only the strongest communities will survive. If we stop waiting for them, it won't matter what they do. We are all just humans 1 on 1 and regular people don't hate each other. It is a cliche to say "I hate people." We could be really great if we could just leave the system. Stop being the oil that runs a corrupt system that is designed to fuck you.
